The staff of Loss Control Services and the Michigan Municipal League’s Risk Management Services Division gratefully acknowledges the significant contributions of the members of the Law Enforcement Action Forum (LEAF) Committee to the development of materials for this manual. Without their tireless efforts and overwhelming support for this project, publishing and maintaining the Law Enforcement Risk Reduction Manual would not be possible. The Manual is not the only activity of LEAF; its members also provide opinions and guidance to the MML and other governmental agencies and commissions on enforcement issues. Each quarter, the LEAF Coordinator publishes a newsletter that explores risk management concerns to keep law enforcement executives aware of problems that may arise in their everyday operations or environment. The goal of LEAF is to keep the law enforcement members of the MML Pool and Fund up to date with the ever-changing requirements of the criminal justice Field.
Because the LEAF Committee member’s contributions
are so important, we wish to acknowledge their participation and thank
them for the significant amount of time and effort that they have invested
in this valuable and worthwhile program. It is because of their knowledge
and expertise that we are able to provide important resource tools to
members of both the League Pool and the League Fund. We sincerely thank
